Skagen Winter Bathing Festival
embrace the chill

Skagen Winter Bathing Festival Ska en Winter Bathin Festival
A cold chill, warm communities and winter atmosphere in Skagen
Look forward to the last weekend of January 2026, when Sønderstrand once again hosts the Skagen Winter Bathing Festival - a festive and refreshing tradition for both seasoned winter swimmers and curious first-time divers.
From Thursday to Sunday, you can jump into the blue waves, enjoy warm saunas right by the beach and feel the special winter light over Skagen. As always, saunas will be set up at Sønderstrand, so you can alternate between cold shivers and warm moments - right where sea and horizon meet.
Wristbands for winter dippers days
With a festival wristband you get free access to winter dips and sauna, a guided city walk, hot skibberlabskovs and mulled wine in the garden of Skagens Museum - and to top it off: soup on Sunday mornings on the beach.
