Take a winter holiday in Skagen - where nature, tranquillity and presence go hand in hand
Winter holidays in Skagen are something special. When the winter light falls softly over the town and nature is dressed in seasonal colours, it's the perfect place to take a break. Whether you long for wind in your hair, peace and quiet or just a nice cup of hot chocolate, Skagen is a place where winter is allowed to unfold.
Winter days with nature, culture and winter fun
A walk to Grenen or Den Tilsandede Kirke in winter is an experience in itself. Here you'll meet the elements up close - and return home with red cheeks and renewed energy. Combine it with a visit to Skagen's museums or one of the cosy shops in the town, where the atmosphere is more relaxed and present than the rest of the year.

Winter cosiness Winter cosiness
for young and old
At Color Hotel Skagen you live in the centre of it all - close to the sea, dune plantation and city life. Here, your winter holiday is not just a break, but an experience in itself.
After the day's excursions, you can relax in our large courtyard with heated pool, hot tub and sauna. Open daily from 07:30-09:00 and 15:00-18:00, there's plenty of opportunity for both a morning dip and an afternoon dip. On the covered terrace or in the bar & lounge, you can warm up with a cup of cocoa and enjoy the winter tranquillity around you.
In the evening, Restaurant Holger and our café offer everything from burgers to fresh fish from the day's auction - always with an eye for flavour, season and quality. And afterwards? Hot cocoa and card games in the lounge, or perhaps a drink and a game of darts in the rogue's room in the basement.
A holiday with room for everyone
We've made it easy to enjoy your holiday - both as a family and as a couple. Every morning there's a large breakfast buffet with something for everyone, and there's plenty of room for play and relaxation at the hotel.

the coastal museum
The coastal museum in Skagen - history, cosiness and discovery
At the Coastal Museum in Skagen, you step directly into the town's history. The museum is a combination of open-air environment and exhibitions where you can experience rebuilt houses from three of Skagen's most significant periods - and get an insight into what life was like for the poor fisherman back then.
It's all presented in a lively and engaging way - and especially for children there are fun activities like the history detectives, where you explore the exhibitions and solve small tasks along the way. A great way to experience history together - and maybe see Skagen with new eyes afterwards.

Art and history Art and history

Visit Skagens Museum and get closer to the special artist colony that began when a young Holger Drachmann first visited the small fishing community in 1872. Here you can immerse yourself in the works and learn more about life behind the brushes.
If you want to get even closer, visit Anchers Hus or Drachmanns Hus - both former homes of the artist families and filled with original furniture, paintings and personal belongings. It feels like stepping into their everyday life.

Experience nature up close Experience nature up close
The grey lighthouse
The Grey Lighthouse is more than just a beautiful view. It offers an exciting and sensory experience for both children and adults - with a focus on birds, sea, nature and communication.
Visit the interactive experience centre where you can learn about migratory birds, ringing and the nature around Skagen. During the winter holidays there's time to immerse yourself, and children can explore the exhibitions with small tasks and learning along the way.
If you take the stairs all the way up, you'll be rewarded with a unique view of Skagen's pointed coastline - an experience that is just as breathtaking in the winter wind as on summer days.
