A winter swimming break in Skagen is an experience you’ll feel long afterwards – not just in your body, but also in your mood.
The festival weekend isn’t just about spine-chilling thrills. It’s about taking a deep breath. About feeling a sense of community, laughing with new people, taking things at your own pace – and reconnecting with something very simple: yourself and the present moment.

You will stay for two or three nights in our cosy double rooms, depending on which package you choose, arriving on Thursday 28 January or Friday 29 January 2027 respectively.
Breakfast
Every morning, a generous breakfast buffet awaits, with everything your heart (and stomach) desires.
Dinner
If you’re staying for four days, on Thursday evening you can look forward to a two-course menu chosen by the head chef, based on seasonal produce.
Festival wristbands
Wristbands for the Winter Swimming Festival’s activities are included throughout your stay – see the programme below. If you purchase the wristband separately, the price is DKK 695 per person.
Sauna ritual
Once again, you can enjoy a sauna session at the hotel on Saturday between 4.30 pm and 6.00 pm with former Danish champion Christian Damgaard. All sessions focus on the sensory experience and promote a sense of well-being and relaxation. Each session lasts approximately 12–15 minutes.
Get-to-gether
After the sauna ritual, there’s a ‘get-together’ on the covered terrace where we’ll enjoy a hot drink.
Communal dining
A festive communal meal at long tables & live music with Mads Vejen on Saturday evening at 7.00 pm at the hotel.
Courtyard
Guests have free access to our courtyard with a heated swimming pool, hot tub and large sauna.

Between your swims, you can relax in our courtyard, where the heated pool, hot tub and large sauna are ready to help you recharge your batteries. On Saturday afternoon, we’ll be turning up the cosiness a notch with a get-together in the courtyard: a sauna ritual led by a former Danish champion in the art of sauna rituals, hot drinks and a relaxed atmosphere that brings guests together.
A winter seaside break with us isn’t just a place to stay – it’s an extension of the festival. A weekend of togetherness, warmth and little moments where you’ll realise why Skagen is something quite special in winter.

2.30 pm – 5.00 pm Saunas open.
2.30 pm – 4.15 pm Divers on the beach.
3.00 pm – 3.30 pm Live music on the beach with Mads Toghøj, weather permitting.
Friday 23 January
08.30 – 16.00 Saunas open.
13.00 – 16.00 Divers on the beach.
11.00 am – 12.00 pm Yoga. This is an optional extra costing 50 per person – maximum 30 participants.
2.00 pm – 2.15 pm Official opening and group warm-up at the sauna area.
4.00 pm Time for shopping and socialising in Skagen town at your leisure.
8.00 pm Concert at Kulturhus Kappelborg. This is an optional extra.
Saturday 24 January
08.30 – 16.00 Saunas open.
08.45 – 11.00 and 12.30 – TBA Divers on the beach.
8.30 am Morning sing-along at the Skagen Winter Bathing Festival, followed by a group warm-up.
12.00 pm – 1.00 pm Guided walking tour of Skagen with a local guide. This year there are four different tours to choose from. You can sign up on one of the lists at Building 3, which will be set up at First Camp Grenen Strand on Friday (by 10.00 on Saturday at the latest). PLEASE NOTE! Places are limited, so it’s on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
1.00 pm Skibberlabskovs and mulled wine in the garden at Skagens Museum.
7.00 pm Communal dinner at the Color Hotel Skagen – this is an optional extra or included in the price when you book a winter bathing stay at the Color Hotel Skagen.
Sunday 25 January
08.30 – 11.30 Saunas open.
08.30 – 10.30 Divers on the beach.
10.30 am – 12.00 pm Soup served by Skagen Fiskerestaurant.

All outdoor activities in the programme are weather-dependent and will be organised as best as possible given the conditions.
Participation in the Skagen Winter Swimming Festival is at your own risk. As a participant, you are responsible for assessing whether you are physically and medically fit to take part in the individual activities. Always follow the instructions of the organisers and safety staff. If you are a beginner, we recommend swimming during the times when divers are present. They have extensive knowledge of water and current conditions and are happy to offer guidance.
During the event, professional photographers will be present from time to time.
